Equality Act – Urgent need to contact your legislators

Dear Senator Menendez/Senator Booker/Congressman Molinowski/Congresswoman Sherrill
I want to congratulate you on your election to the U.S. _____________. That election expects that you will indeed represent your constituents, a position that requires a great deal of courage when it is not aligned with your party’s leadership. Your service indicates that you are a courageous person and I believe a moral person. So I expect that you and other morally sound Senators & Representatives will STOP before you support this wrong-headed “Equality Act” legislation. It is time for common sense to prevail and not have the LBGTQXYZ special interests dictate what our society will evolve into.
Our Declaration of Independence says that “all men ((mankind) are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” I would expect that those words mean a lot to you. Every citizen of this country has those Rights (including those growing to the day of their birth in their mother’s womb). As soon as you start creating new rights for special interests, you begin taking rights away from everyone else.
I have great concern regarding the totally misnamed “Equality Act.” The consequences of this legislation, if passed, will minimally take away the rights of individuals and organizations whose strong religious beliefs do not accept:
- marriages of the same sex,
- transgenderism,
- abortion on demand up to the moment of birth,
- forced performance of medical staff to provide services contrary to their Hippocratic Oath and Religious beliefs,
- providing insurance that supports those issues,
- paying taxes that support those issues,
- etc., etc., etc
The 1st Amendment to the Constitution says that “Congress shall make no law that prohibits the exercise of Religion or abridge Freedom of Speech.” But that is exactly what the “Equality Act” does.
I implore you to take a leadership role in soliciting support from your other lawmakers to STOP this legislation before it totally ruins the social fabric of this country. Moral decay is what ruined other great societies and this legislation will take us down that path. If you polled your constituents on the potential consequences of this legislation, I don’t believe you will find much support for it.
I pray for you and Congress to honestly do what is best for our country. May God bless you and the U.S.A.
