Business Meeting Highlights
The highlights of the Business Meeting of November 10th held at St. Jude
Parish Center and via Zoom are as follows: (14 members physically
present, including District Deputy Michael Leyden, and 3 members via
Zoom).
The following motions were presented to and voted upon by the Council
during this Business Meeting:
Unfinished Business:
Motion 2021.15. Recorder Pierre Kernizan read the motion for the
Council to allocate up to $3,000.00 for Coats for Kids. The motion
passed by a unanimous voice vote.
New Business:
Motion 2021.17. Gerry Kaufhold made a motion for the Council to
allocate $100.00 to buy books for the “Building the Domestic Church”
Kiosk in the church narthex. The motion was seconded by Lennie
Martin, and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.
Motion 2021.18. A motion for the Council to donate $250.00 to the
Celiac Disease Foundation was made by John Watral. Gerard Petrocelli
seconded the motion, and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.
Motion 2021.19. Dan Fuller made a motion for the Council to dedicate
all proceeds of the Wreath Sale to St. Jude Parish families in need. The
motion was seconded by Steve Sammarco, and it passed by a
unanimous voice vote.
Motion 2021.20. A motion for the Council to match the profit of the
Wreath Sale, up to $500.00 to St. Jude families in need was made by
Shaun Mickus. Gerard Petrocelli seconded the motion, and it passed by
a unanimous voice vote.
Motion 2021.21. Mike Mallon made a motion for the Council to donate
$500.00 for clergy and staff at St. Jude Parish as Christmas gifts. The
motion was seconded by Gerry Kaufhold, and it passed by a unanimous
voice vote.
Motion 2021.22. A motion for the Council to pay $50.86 for metals given
out at the Soccer Challenge was made by John Watral. Dan Fuller
seconded the motion and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.
Motion 2021.23. Lennie Martin made a motion for the Council to donate
$350.00 for a banner to be displayed at one of two athletic fields in
Mount Olive. The motion was seconded by Gerry Kaufhold and after a
short discussion it passed by the following hand count: 10 yeas and 3
nays.
