Import proposed motions at this Monday’s business meeting
Brothers,
We have the first reading of two motions being proposed that have a significant impact on our council.
The first is a motion to allocate up to $9000 to purchase an ultrasound machine for a Crisis Pregnancy center in Wayne. There are few opportunities for our council to make a stand for life that have as much impact as this one. This would be the second ultrasound machine that our Council purchases. The first was about four years ago and has undoubtably saved many babies and helped their mothers to make a decision that chose life.
The second is to change the name and usage of our building fund. The proposed name will be the Community and Faith Impact Fund. The original fund was started by the proceeds of the sale of our Council building. It was intended to be used to purchase another building. The officers of our council have agreed for many years that we will not be purchasing a building, and for many reasons should not be purchasing a building. The funds in this account have grown substantially. We would like to repurpose these funds so that we can use them in a meaningful way.
The Intent of this fund will be to use the money for opportunities that can substantially impact our community and faith in a meaningful way. One example would be the proposed purchase of the ultrasound machine. It would be our goal to only use these funds when the conditions permit and not as a “slush” fund when we are running short of funds. It would be to our benefit to allow these funds to grow so that we can make the most impact as possible when they are used.
Please join us on Monday 12/19 at 7:30 and be a part of the discussion and vote on these important and historic motions.
