Business Meeting

July 13, 2021

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:37 pm by Grand Knight Joe D’Anna.

Warden’s Report

All present were in possession of a current membership card.

Opening Prayer

Opening prayer was led by Father Antonio.

Pledge of Allegiance

Salute to the flag was led by the council members.

Roll Call of Officers

Chaplain report

Reading of the gospel of the day, Matthew 11:20-24. Repentance: stop doing our way and do God’s way. If you look for what you want and not what God wants you are looking the wrong way.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted on a motion by Dan Fuller, Seconded by Lenny Martin and accepted by a unanimous vote.

Membership Report

  • The membership director is not around to provide any update.

Grand Knight’s Report

  • Lou Andora whose wife passed away would like to have a little get together after the 10:00 mass on August 1 2021.
  • On August 1 2021 after the 12:00 O’clock mass – Installation of officers

Treasurer’s Report (Wally)

Financial reports are not read at the meeting. They are sent to officers and available by request.

Financial Secretary’s Report (Gerard)

Financial secretary report is emailed to Trustees in advance for approval of expenditures

Program Report

Gerry Kaufhold:

  • Diaper drive and baby shower: We collected diapers, baby care products,  wipes, blankets, cash. They will be distributed to Several Sources, Birth Haven, and North Porch.

Lenny Martin:

  • Faith kitchen: We are doing the packages and deliver them- Maybe by Sept. 1, the kitchen will reopen.

Gerard Petrocelli:

  • July 31, 2021- Blood drive 7:15am-1:00pm (Scholarship drive), sponsored by Christian Gladish

Tom Rohe:

  • Squire: Rafting trip- end of Aug. 2021
    • Membership drive for Squire
    • Zoom meeting – State Squire Jul. 21st- – 19 different councils will do their own circles.
    • Tank Pull- 19 squires brought their fathers- we collected $2,500
    • Charity Mania is live and well- need sales
    • Aug 14, 2021- 1st annual picnic- 1:00pm, Flanders KOC hall, behind the fire house
    • Father Dan donated a check
    • Website has a link for Charity Mania

Unfinished Business:

  1. Motion 2021-39: Motion to allocate up to $4000 for Blood drive for the Columbian year 2021-2022 was originally made by Tom Rohe and seconded by Lenny Martin. The second readingwas seconded by Dan Fuller and Gerard Petrocelli and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • Motion 2021-40: Motion to allocate $1400 for Dover Soup Kitchen for the Columbian year 2021-2022 was originally made by Lenny Martin and seconded by Gerrry Kaufhold. The second readingwas seconded by Gerry Kaufhold and Tom Rohe and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • Motion 2021-41: Motion to allocate $5000 for Good Shepherd school in Haiti for the Columbian year 2021-2022 was originally made by Gerard Petrocelli and seconded by Wally Krake. The second readingwas seconded by Dan Fuller and Gregg Buckalew and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • Motion 2021-42: Motion to allocate $1200 for Mount Olive food pantry for the Columbian year 2021-2022 was originally made by Tom Rohe and seconded by John Watral. The second readingwas seconded by Gregg Buckalew and Gerard Petrocelli and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • Motion 2021-43: Motion to allocate $1200 for St Joseph Home of the Elderly for the Columbian year 2021-2022 was originally made by Tom Rohe and seconded by Gregg Buckalew. The second readingwas seconded by Gerard Petrocelli and Gregg Buckalew and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • Motion 2021-44: Motion to allocate $9600 for Church hall rental for Bingo for the Columbian year 2021-2022 was tabled pending further discussions.  (Tabled)
  • Motion 2021-45: Motion to allocate $2400 for church hall donation for the Columbian year 2021-2022 was originally made by Gerry Kaufhold and seconded by John Watral. The second readingwas seconded by Gerry Kaufhold and Jim Sweeney and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • Motion 2021-46: Motion to allocate up to $1200 for refreshment for meetings for the Columbian year 2021-2022 was originally made by Joe Tarallo and seconded by Tom Rohe. The second readingwas seconded by Tom Rohe and Gregg Buckalew and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.

New Business:

Motion 2021-47: Gerry Kaufhold made a motion to donate $500 for the RSVP program. Shaun Mickus seconded the motion and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.

Motion 2021-48: Gerry Kaufhold made a motion to donate $500 for Vet Summer Fest. Dan Fuller seconded the motion and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.

Motion 2021-49: Gerard Petrocelli made a motion to donate $100 to the Mount Olive Girl HS soccer team sponsoring their 2021 practice shirts. Tom Rohe seconded the motion and it passed by a unanimous voice vote.

Insurance Agent Report

  • No report

District Deputy Report (Tom Rohe on behalf of Mike Leyden)

  • Thank you to Pierre for substituting for the Grand Knight at the Grand Knight meeting
  • Online membership is working
  • For retention, Supreme is coming up with new way to remove non-active members from councils
  • Support Supreme’s initiatives for coat drive
  • Form 365 is due August 31, 2021
  • Vet Summer Fest is Aug. 14, 2021
