November 2025 Meeting Minutes
November 17TH, 2025
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:33 pm by Grand Knight (GK) Joe Tarallo.
Warden’s Report
All present were in possession of a current membership card.
Opening Prayer
Opening prayer was led by Deacon Tony.
Pledge of Allegiance
Salute to the flag was led by the council members.
Chaplain report
Deacon Tony stated that we had excellent speakers at our membership drive held over last weekend during each
Mass.
Minutes of the Previous Meeting
Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted on a motion by Robert Jacobs, seconded by
Wallace Krake Jr., approved with a unanimous vote.
Grand Knight’s Report (Joe Tarallo)
GK stated that members should start residing the prayer of St. Andrew starting November 30th running through
December 25th.
GK stated that we have 2 new members present (Justin John and Steven O’Connell) and a returning member
(Anthony Grasso). All should be welcomed.
GK Stated that we had a good membership drive and that the current State Deputy Jim Sweeney and former State
Deputy Mike Lippen were involved. GK Stated, that we have an E-Card setup that can be texted to potential
members on the spot. E-Card will have a QR code as well. This E-Card was sent out to 13 people so far.
GK Stated that Gerry Kaufhold has been working on our commitment to donating a portion of the funds needed to
obtain an ultrasound machine for “Care Net” located in Hackettstown.
GK Stated that the officer’s installation dinner was held on November 3RD and it was a successful event.
GK Stated that the 40 days for life program has ended which was run by Gerry Kaufhold. The right to life raffle
was also a successful drive for our council.
GK Sated that Mike Sabella ran the CPR training last weekend and that we had a good turnout.
GK Stated that the “Federation Meeting” is to be held this Friday November 21st and that the “Pride in Priests
Dinner” will be held on Monday November 24th.
GK Stated that we are planning to hold Bingo on Black Friday November 28th and that this will be the 5th week of
Bingo for the month so we will need members to volunteer. He also stated that we need one additional back room
person to help run our operation.
GK Stated that John Watral will be running the Squires Craft Sale Event that is coming up soon.
GK Stated that Mike Mallon will be running the annual Knights of Columbus Christmas Party.
GK Stated that the “Party for Jesus” is now renamed “Awaiting a Savior” and will be held on December 14th the
day after our Christmas Party. Time for the event will start at 9 AM and run till Noon and that we expect 150 +/-
Kids to attend in 2 waves after the 9 AM and 11AM CCD Classes. We expect parents to attend as well. We will be
providing breakfast foods and the Rosarians will be providing desserts. Tom Rohe will be Santa Claus. Pictures
can be taken with Santa by their parents with their own devices. We will be setting up stations for food and for the
“Letters to the Seminaries”. The letters to seminaries allows kids to write letters to sisters to read throughout the
holiday season.
GK Sated that John Watral will speak about the “Paragon Christmas Party”.
GK Stated that we donated 18 total boxes of coats to the “Coats for Kids” drive. This amounted to about $300 in
donations. This equals about 200 Coats for the annual “Coats for Kids” event to be held in Paterson on December
21st and that all members are welcome to attend as it is a moving experience.
GK Stated that next July 18th there will be the annual Installation Dinner for Officers and all are invited to attend.
GK Stated that the annual convention will be held on December 14th to December 17th in Wildwood, NJ. And that
Jim Sweeney will be reelected and that all members are welcome to attend.
GK stated that we now need to process the Vouches with the new voucher forms and program forms available on
the K of C website and these need to be filled out for each planned activity. Please send all completed forms to
John Watral.
Treasurer’s Report (Michael Uszacki)
The bank statement was sent to trustees. A copy is available upon request.
Financial Secretary’s Report (Gerard Petrocelli)
Financial secretary’s report is emailed in advance to Trustees for approval of expenditures.
Membership Report (Chip Sturm)
Chip Stated that he is continuing to look for new members.
Program Reports – Led by John Watral
Bingo (Mike Mallon) – Bingo is doing well and we had 93 people last weekend and that there was only 1 fight.
Mike stated that we need volunteers at the start and end of each session. We especially need a few more members
at the end of the night for cleanup so if any members can they are welcomed to join us after 10PM to help cleanup.
Christmas Party (Mike Mallon) – Mike stated that the Christmas Party will be held in the Parish Center on
December 13th staring at 7 PM. We need members to help serve food and for setup and cleanup. We need to know
the number of people who plan to attend so that the food order can be arranged. Food will be purchased from
Enzo’s Pizza on Route 46. We also need donated gifts worth $25 for the annual “Gift Steal” event where people
can pick gifts off a table and unwrap them for all to see. Then the next few people who get to pick gifts can
exchange (Steal) the gifts chosen by previous individuals for up to 3 turns. An E-Mail will be sent out soon so
please be punctual with your responds so that we can get a proper head count.
Soup Kitchen (Lenny Martin) – Next planned Soup Kitchen is planned for next month and Lenny will report after
the event.
Blood Drive (Gerard Petrocelli) – Next Blood Drive is planned for December 6TH and volunteers will be needed.
This is typically our largest blood drive. We need members to spread the word of the upcoming event as products
are always needed for numerous different situations such as surgeries, accidents and mothers with babies. Event is
planned for 6:30 AM until Noon and Kitchen help will be needed at 5:30 AM till 12:30 PM.
Wreath Drive (Gerard Petrocelli) –Gerard stated that the Wreath Drive is still on-going. We have sold 125 pieces
and we still have about 30 pieces left that can be purchased. We make about $6 profit per piece and all proceeds go
to “Food for Families” in the form of gift cards to be distributed Thanksgiving Weekend.
CPR & AEP Training (Mike Sabella)-CPR & AEP Training was conducted by Atlantic Health on November 15TH
and we had 21 people attend the session. Mike thanked everyone who showed up and was happy that the Ushers
who help during mass were also present as there have been several situations in the past where patrons required
medical attention before the Ambulance arrived.
4TH Degree (Robert Jacobs) – Next Meeting will be held tomorrow night Tuesday November 18th at 7 PM at the
meeting hall located on Schmidt Lane just behind of the Flanders Volunteer Fire Department. 3RD Degree members
are encouraged to attend so that they may advance to become 4th degree members. These meetings focus on
patriotic ideas with emphasis on former or active military members.
Squires – (John Watral) – There is an upcoming Craft Sale to be held on December 29th 2025. We will need
members to volunteer for setup before the event just after Bingo. Please spread the word so that we can get a good
turnout. At last Tuesdays meeting we had 2-3 potential members attend that showed some interest. The next
meeting will be held on Wednesday December 10th or December 17th at 6:45 PM (Decision will be made in the
upcoming weeks).
Right to Life (Gerry Kaufhold) – Gerry stated that we are now in the final stages of our commitment to donate
$6,318.75 towards a Ultrasound Machine for “Care Net” located in Hackettstown. This donation represents 12 ½%
of the overall cost of the machine as the rest of the funds will be coming from other sources. Paperwork will be
finalized soon and the 1st reading for the motion will be held tonight. After the 2nd Reading checks should be able
to be cut in January 2026. Gerry stated that in our annual “Right to Life” raffle that we collected a record breaking
$1240. He stated that 10% of these funds get sent back to our Council. Gerry stated that Chip and he attended the
Rosary prayer sessions held at the Morristown “Planned Parenthood” facility and that their presence has deterred
patients for keeping their appointments for abortions. Bishop Sweeney holds a “Right to Life” Mass every 1st
Saturday of the month at 8 AM. All are welcomed to attend.

DD Report – Worthy DD provided the following report:
Greetings From Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly, and State Deputy James Sweeney.
The council is up to date on reports to Supreme including Safe Environment training
We are in our 2nd quarter of Columbian Year, please complete form 10784 (Faith in Action form) after each
program-
Membership: Follow up with new recruits is essential. Let’s not miss any opportunities to invite Catholic
Gentlemen to join our Order. If the new candidates have not already signed up online, help them
accomplish this task.
Next step is to schedule a CUF date-
COR – any questions or assistance with COR, contact DD Les Pappianne, Paterson COR coordinator
January 2026 – Sacred Heart Pilgram Icon is scheduled to be in our District – Let me know if your council
is interested so we can plan for it.
Nov 15th Exemplification of the 4th Degree was a beautiful ceremony and great event demonstrating our
Patriotism and the fellowship of our Order. If you are not aa 4th Degree Knight, consider it or at least attend
the next Exemplification to experience this beautiful ceremony.
Events: November and December are busy times for our councils. Let’s not forget:
