There’s Work To Be Done, Let’s Get To It!

Brothers,

I want to let you know that I am honored that you have elected me to be Grand Knight of your Council for the 2022-23 Columbian year. I pledge to do my best and work with you and our other officers to continue the rich traditions of the past and enact new programs for the future.

I would first like to thank Past Grand Knight Joe D’Anna for his leadership over his two terms as Grand Knight. The last few years have been difficult for everybody. None of us has experienced anything in our lifetimes that could have prepared us for all that has happened across the world since 2020. Through Joe’s leadership, our council has persevered, even without a revenue source, and still maintained our charitable presence in the community.

As we emerge from this pandemic or learn to live with it anyway, there is so much work to be done! And our mission as Knights of Columbus is to do that work through our acts of Charity. There is more poverty and need than ever. Our country and yes, our Church, need uniting like never before. This can only be changed by getting out of our homes, getting back to church and focusing on our mission as Knights!

I have chosen a theme for this year.

There’s work to be done, let’s get to it!

We need to restart programs that have been put on pause since 2020. We have been fortunate to restart bingo on 6/24 and that is a great start. There are many other programs that need to be restarted as well and new programs that are just as important. Programs like our drive for People with Special Needs and the new and very important Aid and Support After Pregnancy (ASAP). There are also leadership positions that need to be filled, the most urgent being the Program Director. In order to do these things, we need your help. If you have not come to a meeting in a while please come to our next one on 7/18. We would love to see you there.

This year I have several goals and you will hear about those in future communications. One of those goals is to communicate better and more often. We will need as much help as we can to accomplish these goals. It is going to be a busy year.

I would like to thank my brother Knights who have agreed to serve on the leadership team for 2022-2023. Working together in Unity and Fraternity we cannot help but do good things. If you have any questions or suggestions please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of the other officers.

I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting. There’s work to be done, let’s get to it!

Vivat Jesus!
