GK Thanked all for their participation in getting new members and trying to get new members. As such our Council 6100 was named a Star Council for the 1st time in years.

GK stated that the State Officer installation in Peterson where Jim Sweeney was installed was a wonderful event. The Bishop’s homily at mass was inspiring and the after mass meal was very good. Jim Sweeney informed everyone that he will be organizing items to be made more readily available to the councils across the state.

GK stated that both Gerald Petrocelli and Jerry Kaufhold need help with the programs that they currently are running such as the Wreath Drive, Blood Drives and Right to Life events. Additionally help is needed organizing the Golf Outings, and Soccer tournament. This help would be secondary roles under the direction of the knight running the program.

Treasurer’s Report (Mike Uszacki.)

Treasurer report was announced by Mike Uszacki.

Membership Report (Chip Sturm)

We currently have  3 to 4 potential new members, and even though they promised to attend tonight’s meeting they did not show. Chip will reconnect with them and ask again for their involvement.                         .

Financial Secretary’s Report (Gerard Petrocelli)

Financial secretary’s report is emailed in advance to Trustees for approval of expenditures.

Program Reports – Led by John Watral

Bingo (Mike Mallon) – Players are cutting in line and this is disrupting the setup of the games. Bingo otherwise is going well and we have had good turnouts the last 2 weeks. As always we need help before the games start and after they are finished.

Soup Kitchen (Lenny Martin) –The next soup kitchen will be next Tuesday 7/29/25.

Blood Drive (Gerard Petrocelli) – The next Blood drive will be on August 9th 2025.  We continue to grow the number of products each year. Advertisement for this blood drive was sent out today. Please spread the word.

Golf Outings (Gerald Pertocelli) –The next Golf Outing will be held on 9/15/25. Sign up is due on or before 8/18/25. Flyer will be going out soon. Funds will be donated to Pope John Paul HS and for the CJD association.

There is another Golf outing to be held in honor of Gary Halliwell on 9/12/25.

Missionary Work (PJ Farrjiggia) –PJ stated that he is very grateful for all the donations and support of the council that has allowed him to continue working at college campuses. He has spent the last 3 years in the Massachusetts area and has spent 2025 in the Boston area. He will continue to work at colleges in the area to spread the word and that he has brought at least 6 young people back into the church in 2025. Deacon Tony mentioned that he remembers PJ when he was an Altar Server.

Soccer Tournament (John Watral) – John stated that the 1ST round of Soccer Tournament will be held in late September and the next round will be in October of this year at Turkey Brook Park. We will need volunteers to help at the events and any help will be appreciated.

RTL (Gerry Kaufhold) – The Baby Collection drive was a huge success. Numerous items were donated including 6000 wipes and 11000 diapers. All items were distributed to two centers one in Newton and the other in Hackettstown. Mike Sabella’s wife made 4 diaper bags out of the left over material from the chair renovation project.

Installation Dinner (Jim Sweeney) – Jim stated that he was overwhelmed with the support and praise that he received during the installation dinner in Paterson. He was grateful for all members of the 6100 Council that showed up to witness his installation. He stated that the Mass run by Bishop Kevin Sweeney (no relation to Jim) was enlightening where the Bishop’s homily was based on the life of the Knights founding Father “McGivney”. Jim stated that there are pins available if you were unable to attend the installation. Jim also stated that one of our main missions is to help Chip Sturm bring in new members.

Eucharistic Procession – (Dan Fuller) – Procession went well and Dan thanked all that helped. Dan mentioned that we were able to move ceremony inside day of as thunder showers were forecast.

State Convention (Tom Rohe) – Nothing new to report.

4th Degree (Tom Rohe) – The 4TH Degree has the summer off so there is no meeting planned for July. The next meeting is to be held on the 3RD Tuesday in August 8/19/25 and all are encouraged to attend. The Veterans picnic was a huge success with multiple attendees and all the food was devoured which meant it must have been good. There is a Pasta Dinner being setup to be held in the parish center sometime in early October.

Squires (Tom Rohe) – Tom stated that it has been a quiet summer for the squires so far. There will be a meeting soon possibly in the next 2 weeks. Tom also stated that we had 2 Knights in attendance that started out a squires (PJ and Christian).
