Blood Drive Udates
Worthy Brothers,
We sincerely pray you and your families are well!
On behalf of New Jersey Blood Services and most importantly, the recipients of your blood donations, thank you for your life saving generosity! In these turbulent times, the Knights of Columbus continues to step up and make a difference assisting those most in need! For our past December 12th blood drive, there were 150 units collected. Again, truly an amazing display of generosity from our donors in a time where the urgency for blood is most needed. In total, we had 136 registered donors which included 102 whole blood donations, 24 Alyx donations (accounting for 48 units), and 10 donors were deferred. Also thanks to our brothers who participated with the set-up of clearing tables, chairs and those who volunteered on the day of the drive.
We will again have the opportunity to make a difference at our next Community Blood Drive scheduled for Saturday, February 6th, from 7:15am to 1pm, at St. Jude Church Parish Center. Along with breakfast, we will be providing each donor with a choice of a ShopRite or Enzo’s $5 gift card or t-shirt!
Again, appointments are strongly encouraged by visiting https://donate.nybc.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/277649, calling the NYBC at 1-800-933-2566, or by contacting me. Walk-ins are welcome, contingent on capacity to maintain social distancing.
Note: if you donated Alyx (Automated Red Cell) at our December 12th drive, you will not be eligible to donate either whole blood or Alyx at our upcoming February 6th drive. You will be again eligible to donate either Alyx or whole blood at our following drive to be held on Saturday, April 24th.
With the continued urgent need for blood, please continue to be an advocate of this worthy cause. Spread the word with family, friends, neighbors, and neighborhood organizations which may help obtain additional donors. With the passing of each day, we are reminded of how precious life is. What better way can we spend an hour or so of our time by sharing the gift of life, by giving blood!
Thank you again for your life saving generosity and look forward to your continued support! If you should have any questions, please reach out to me at gpetrocelli@optonline.net or 908-216-6414.
Looking forward to seeing you again on Saturday, February 6th, as well as meeting new donors! Note, the remaining 2021 drives are on the following Saturdays, April 24th, July 31st, Sept 25th, & Dec 11th.
Please keep your thoughts and prayers for the families who lost loved ones with this pandemic and pray for the speedy recovery of those who are currently battling the virus.
Stay Safe & God Bless!
