Honoring the Memory of State Deputy Vincent P. Tavormina

At the recent Exemplification of the Patriotic (4th) Degree of the First New Jersey District, St Isaac Jogues Province celebrated of Sunday April 18, 2021 77 new Sir Knights were recognized as we celebrated the life of State Deputy Vincent P. Tavormina. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, graduate of Seton Hall University, Army veteran, married Elaine and father of three children – Anthony, Kristi, and Matthew. These are just a few of the things that define and shape Vinnie and his life.

As a Knight he joined the order in November 1996 and was involved in committees and as an officer in Council #7046. He served as Outside Guard; Warden; Deputy Grand Knight; and Grand Knight. In his tenure as GK the Council was awarded Star Council. Vinnie was a District Deputy in Metuchen Diocese in 2005 and was recognized and awarded the Circle of Honor Award and Star District. Following his time as District Deputy Vinnie was appointed Membership Chairman for the Metuchen Diocese. Appointed as State Advocate in 2013; State Treasurer in 2015; State Secretary in 2017; and finally State Deputy in 2019.

Earlier this year, on Tuesday January 26, 2021 Vinnie lost his battle with the coronavirus. On this day and in the days, months, and years following we will remember the son, husband, father, and Knight that was Vincent P. Tavormina as a wonderful person that cared for and loved his family and as a great leader of the Knights of Columbus in New Jersey. May Vinnie rest in peace.
