Spiritual Adoption Program – This weekend before or after all masses you and/or your family have the opportunity to sign up to pray for a yet to be born baby at risk of being aborted. All that is required is for you to sign the commitment card with your (or your family’s) name committing to pray for the baby for 9 months (the term of a pregnancy). There will be periodic announcements in the bulletin of your baby’s development. The program will conclude in June with a “Baby Shower” to collect gifts for the Birth Haven and Care Net Pregnancy Centers. Attached to the commitment card is a brief suggested prayer for your adopted baby. This is a wonderful way to teach our children to value the life of babies in the womb!
OPPORTUNITY FOR ACTION: During this year’s Spring 40 Days for Life campaign, beginning September 22 through November 2, you are invited to join me and several other Brother Knights for a peaceful prayer vigil every Wednesday at the Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic at 196 Speedwell Avenue Morristown, NJ from 10: to 11:00 AM. OR, if you can’t make it then you can still go anytime between the hours of 7 AM and 7 PM. Sign up and pick your Vigil hour(s) on line at 40daysforlife.com/Morristown! We are winning the battle but it needs you and your prayers. You are invited to bring friends and family to join us!
Rachel Rosary – Before the business meeting every month we pray the Rosary. Since October is Respect life Month, we will pray the Rachel Rosary which is an intercessory prayer to bring an end to abortion and for those impacted by abortion. PLEASE join us on October 18 promptly at 7:00 PM (right before the business meeting) for this special event. ALSO, every Wednesday at 8:15 AM prior to daily mass at St. Jude’s, we pray the Rachel Rosary led mostly by your brother Knights. You are always welcome to join us.
Respect Life Mass – Every year the Bishop of the Paterson Diocese celebrates a Respect Life Mass which is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. This year it will be celebrated on Saturday November 20 at 10:00 at the St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Paterson NJ. There is free parking right across the street from the Cathedral. This also is an opportunity to share your Catholic faith with your family. All are welcome! Hope to see you there! Let me know if you would like to carpool! Gerry
“March for Life” – Mark your calendar! The 2022 march for life is planned for January 21 in Washington DC. I am working on a shared bus with the Flanders Council. Stay tuned for more details!
