Business Meeting

December 20, 2021

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:32 pm by Grand Knight (GK) Joe D’Anna.

Warden’s Report

All present were in possession of a current membership card.

Opening Prayer

Opening prayer was led by GK Joe D’Anna.

Pledge of Allegiance

Salute to the flag was led by the council members.

Roll Call of Officers

N/A- per new format    

Chaplain report

There was no chaplain report as the chaplain was not present.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted by a motion by Gerry Kaufhold, seconded by Bob Jacobs and accepted unanimously.

Membership Report

  • No report

Grand Knight’s Report

  • Good to be back.
  • Gerard and I went to see Sammarco’s wife- and took a look at the attic ceiling- there is no plywood, no insulation- 2 bedrooms and the attic  need to be re-insulated
  • Supreme gave gift cards to Lowes and HomeDepot- Sweeney had the cards – $1,500 in gift cards
  • We can get $1,000 matching funds from trustees-
  • Up to $1,000 supreme will match-
  • GK can use $500 discretionary funds

Treasurer’s Report (Wally)

The Treasury’s reports have been sent to officers and available by request.

Financial Secretary’s Report (Gerard)

Financial secretary’s report is emailed to Trustees in advance for approval of expenditures

Program Report

  • Dec. 11-12, 2021 membership and council office drive
    • Exemplification: 1 member added – another exemplification in the Spring of 2021
    • Pride and Priest dinner was on Monday before Thanksgiving
    • Right to life mass- 2 people attended the mass- the color corps was impressive- Bishop Sweeney did the homily himself
    • We will not go to the Right to Life march in Washington this year due to the rise in Covid cases. Rose drive is still on. Last year we donated the proceeds of the Rose drive to the Squires. We wat to do that again this year.
    • The blood drive of Dec. 11, 2021 brought in 163 products (140 appointments and a steady crowd all day)- Next blood drive is Feb. 5, 2022
    • The wreath sale brought in a little over $1,000 in profit ($800 sale and $200 donation)
    • There is a potential for 3 new members. Jan 4, 2022 is open house type meeting
    • Rose sale in January 2022
    • April 2022- State Retreat for Squires.

New Business:

  1. A motion to donate $500 to Ernie DiCicco Scholarship in honor of Ann DiCicco was made by Dan Fuller, seconded by Gerard Petrocelli and passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • A motion to purchase $200 worth of pet food to be donated to Mt. Olive Food Pantry was made by Gerard Petrocelli, seconded by Bob Jacobs and passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • A motion to donate an additional $50 for 2021 Christmas Gift for Clergy & Staff was made by Gerard Petrocelli and seconded by Mike Mallon and passed by a unanimous voice vote
