Knight of the Month for October 2022

Chip accepting his award for Knight of the Month

This Brother Knight joined our Order on March 2, 2019. He is a parishioner at St. Jude and a fixture at both the daily and the 12:00 masses where he serves as an usher. He has taken up the mantle, previously held by his father, and makes sure that everyone is greeted warmly at the door and welcomed to our church.

Since becoming a Knight, he has worked pull tabs at bingo almost every week we had a bingo. He is extremely personable and many of the players enjoy our bingo because of what he adds to their experience. I am always amazed about how he persuades people to buy however many pull tabs we need to sell to complete a game. Each time I begin to worry, he says “Don’t worry, I’ve got this”. He works tirelessly throughout the night each week. He always looks to improve the experience of the players and make us the most profit. He helps to set up bingo each Friday morning too.

He has taken on two key roles in our Council. Chancellor and Membership Director. As Membership Director he ran a successful membership campaign in September and spoke at each mass. We have so far gained one new member, transferred in another, and a few more men have voiced interest in our order.

He is a motivated and integral part of our Council, and we are all blessed to call him Brother.

It is for these reasons that I am proud to declare Chip Sturm the Fr. Joseph A. Cassidy Council 6100 Knight of the Month for October 2022.
