Grand Knight’s Report (Joe Tarallo)
Joe stated that the State Convention was a good event and that our Members Joe Tarallo, Gerry Kaufold, Tom Rohe, and Sal Ubaldini attended the event. Last year wasn’t as well run as this year and there was a long contested election last year. This year everything ran smoothly and events were held on time. There was a good Bingo night on Thursday with about 60 people in attendance. A former NFL Referee spoke at the event about how he turned his life around with his return to the church. Jim Sweeney received an award and our Council 6100 also received numerous recognition certificates and Joe stated that they are on the back table where they can be viewed. Numerous programs were recognized that our Council runs such as our Blood Drives.
Joe Stated that we are near the end of the Columbian Year and that we need all the Vouchers to be submitted and to get all programs handed in.
Joe Stated that we have completed our Scholarship Programs. Joe stated that we had only 4 applicants. Faith based scholarships have gone downward over the last year and we have only 1 more scholarship to process.
Joe stated that all need to mark their calendars as the State Installation Dinner for Jim Sweeney is to be held on July 18th at our parish. All are needed to volunteer as there will be numerous jobs to do with setup, service during the event and cleanup afterwards. Bingo will be cancelled on Friday July 17th due to the need to setup the Parish Center for the event. We are expecting about 250 people and we will need to provide breakfast after mass. Inside the Church we will need volunteers to put up reserve signs and to serve as ushers. Procession will start at 10AM Mass. We will need help with the food preparation. Paul Capone stated that he would like to see the floor of the parish center cleaned prior to the event. Joe stated that this is already being planned for approximately 2 weeks before the Event to allow the chemical odors to dissipate. Deacon Tony will be setting up the Music for the mass. Volunteers are urged to help and there are signup sheets on the back table.
Joe stated that there is a planned national Eucharistic Procession that will end on July 4TH in Philadelphia and that the event will be in our area on June 14th at Holy Rosary Church in Passiac and that members are encouraged to volunteer to help with the event.
Joe stated that this week there will be a 5th week Bingo and that Volunteers are needed.

Veterans Memorial (Gerry Kaufhold) – Gerry stated that Volunteers are needed for the annual Veterans Memorial Event to be held on Memorial Day at 10:30 AM in Turkey Brook Park. Gerry stated that we need 1 more volunteer so that we have alternate members available just in case. Our duty at the event will be to raise the “One Nation under God” flags near the end of the planned ceremonies. Gerry stated that there is a signup sheet on the rear table.
