November Business meeting 11/14/22

November 14th, 2022

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:35 pm by Grand Knight (GK) Dan Fuller.

Warden’s Report

All present were in possession of a current membership card.

Opening Prayer

Opening prayer was led by Grand Knight (GK) Dan Fuller.

Pledge of Allegiance

Salute to the flag was led by the council members.

Roll Call of Officers

N/A- per new format

Chaplain report

There was no chaplain report as the chaplain was not present.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the previous meeting were not submitted and will be accepted next month. 

Grand Knight’s Report (Dan Fuller)

  • The school we support in Haiti did not open, and Pierre didn’t feel right taking the money, so the school refunded the money we donated for September and October.
  • Federation meeting this friday night. 
  • Pride and Priest dinner on November 21st. 
  • December 3rd council Christmas party! Everyone is invited!
  • We got a new microphone system for bingo. 

Treasurer’s Report (Wally)

The bank statement was sent to the trustees – a copy can be requested by request.

Membership Report (Chip Sturm)

  • Two new members: Russel Boyle, and Wally’s son is going to register for the knights.
  • In addition, Bruce transferred into our council!

Financial Secretary’s Report (Gerard)

Financial secretary’s report is emailed in advance to Trustees for approval of expenditures.

Program Reports – Led by John Watral

Right to life report (Gerry) 

The Right to Life raffle sold 87 tickets and made $870. 

There is a respect for life mass this saturday at 10PM, Gerry is offering carpooling and is planning to leave the parking lot saturday at 9:00. 

Blood Drive report (Gerard) The blood drive flier is made up for Sat. December 17th 6:30-12:30. This will be a scholarship drive to support a high school student. 

Wreath Drive (Gerard) We have 20+ cases of wreaths coming into Gerard’s house sometime from the 21st to the 24th. He will need help getting wreaths to the parish center. He is still looking to sell wreaths, sprays, and Christmas trees.  

Veterans Breakfast (John/Wally) The veterans breakfast had numbers lower than last year, but there was a rush of attendees during the middle of the breakfast. 

Squires report (John Watral):  Craft vendor sale on November 19th all day 9-4PM. 

Unfinished Business

  • Motion to donate $500 to the RSVP program. (The seminarian sponsorship program) 

Pierre, Gerard – Passed

  • Motion to donate $500 to support Tom Kimball in the diaconate program.  

Chip, Gerard – Passed 

  • Motion to spend $75 for the 4th degree half page advertisement.

Pierre, John Watral – Passed 

  • Motion to spend $100 for the Christ and Christmas Billboard.

Lenny, Mike Sabella – Passed

  • Motion to donate up to $675 for Christmas Gifts for the parish clergy and administrators.  

Gerry, Pierre – Passed – first reading

  • Motion to donate $500 to family in need (Tom Rohe’s friends). 

Gerard, Gerry – Passed unanimously 

Second Reading

  • Motion to spend up to $1,000 for a Holiday Christmas party. Chip, Gerry 

Passed unanimously 

  • Motion to amend motion 2122.34 to increase the monthly church donation for bingo to $1,000 per month for the 2022-23 Columbian year starting in november Pierre, Gerard.

Passed unanimously

  • Motion to donate up to $3,000 or 10 cases of coats for the Federation Coats for Kids drive. Lenny, Gerard

Passed unanimously

Insurance Agent Report

  • No insurance report

Good of the Order

The Good of the Order was conducted by John Watral
