Council 6100 Scholarship Blood Drive Saturday, June 25, from 6:30am to 12:30pm at St. Jude Church Parish Center

We again can make a difference! Council 6100 is holding a Scholarship Blood Drive this coming Saturday, June 25th, at St. Jude Church Parish Center, 17 Mount Olive Rd, Budd Lake, from 6:30am to 12:30pm. For donors 76 and older, you may donate if you meet all donor eligibility requirements and present a physician’s note.

We will be serving pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit and more including vegan and gluten free options. Each donor will also have a choice of a ShopRite or Enzo’s $5 gift card. Appointments are strongly encouraged by visiting www.tinyurl.com/kofcblooddrivejune25 , calling the NYBC at 1-800-933-2566, or by contacting me. Walk-ins are welcome.

There is an opportunity to obtain a scholarship for our student sponsor, provided by NJ Blood Services. The $500 scholarship opportunity is contingent on collecting an aggressive total of 140 products for this day. For all our ALYX donors eligible to give this day, I would encourage you to donate ALYX (Automated Red Cell), counting as 2 products towards our goal of 140. We are scheduled to have 10 ALYX machines available reducing any potential wait time. For those wishing to donate ALYX, where a preferred appointment slot may not be available, you can reserve a Whole Blood appointment instead and just mention you want to donate ALYX when you check in on the day of the drive. For those who made an ALYX donation at our April 30th drive, you will not be eligible to make any type of donation until our following drive, scheduled for Saturday, August 20th.

With blood supplies urgently low, please be an advocate of this worthy cause. Spread the word with family, friends, and neighbors which may help obtain additional donors. What better way can we spend an hour or so of our time by sharing the gift of life, by giving blood!
