Business Meeting

February 21, 2022

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:34 pm by Grand Knight (GK) Joe D’Anna.

Warden’s Report

All present were in possession of a current membership card.

Opening Prayer

Opening prayer was led by GK Joe D’Anna.

Pledge of Allegiance

Salute to the flag was led by the council members.

Roll Call of Officers

N/A- per new format    

Chaplain report

There was no chaplain report as the chaplain was not present.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted on a motion by Dan Fuller and seconded by Bob Jacobs and accepted by a unanimous voice vote.

Membership Report

  • Chip- there is nothing report- Need a little help in focusing on how to recruit.

Grand Knight’s Report

  • Support to community and council- support the baby bottle drive.
  • We are approaching Lent- Give up something- Join Gerry for the 40-day in Morristown.
  • I sent a letter to Supreme letting them know knights are getting older and now they want to dismantle the squires? I have not received an answer ye

Treasurer’s Report (Wally)

The Treasury’s reports will be sent to officers on Feb. 22, 2022.

Financial Secretary’s Report (Gerard)

Financial secretary’s report is emailed to Trustees in advance for approval of expenditures

Program Report

Gerry Kaufhold

  • Baby bottle project is coming back next weekend (Feb. 28). Approximately $500 collected this weekend (Feb. 20).
    • April timeframe is Diaper drive then Baby shower in Jun-Jul
    • 40 days for life starts on Mar. 2, 2022 and every Wednesday for the following 6 weeks.

Tom Rohe

  • Fourth (4th) degree: Meeting postponed to Feb. 22, 2022 in Flanders
    • April 24, 2022 Exemplification
    • April 30, 2022 Shred event in Flanders- ($5 per bag, $10 per box)

Gerard Petrocelli

  • Blood Drive: February 5, 2022: 129 products collected.
    • Next blood drive is April 30th 2022
    • Wreath drive: We collected $800 in purchased wreath, approximately $200 donation, the council to contribute $500 to it to buy gift cards to donate to families in need.

John Watral:

  • Squire meeting on Thursday 4 new members
    • March 19, 2022- Food drive
    • April 10, 2022- Easter Egg hunt
    • April 24, 2022- Spring road clean up
    • April 2, 2022- State squire retreat

Mile Mallon:

  • Bingo: Technician from the bingo company (Dave) came and now the console works, but towers do not – Hand held devices work as well.
    • Need of bingo committee to set tables and chairs
    • New coffee pot is ordered and will arrive in approximately 4 weeks.

Dan Fuller:

  • Drive for special need

New Business:

  1. A motion to donate $100 to Mike Leyden for Polar Plunge was made by Dan Fuller. The motion was seconded by Shawn Mickus and passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • A motion to donate $100 to the Squires for food Drive of March 2022 was made by Bob Jacobs. The motion was seconded by Dan Fuller and passe by a unanimous voice vote.
  • A motion to donate $250 to for the Attardo Scholarship Funds was made by John Watral the motion was seconded by Tom Rohe and passed by a unanimous voice vote.
  • A motion to donate up to $180 to replenish the books in the kiosk in the back of the church was made by Gerry Kaufhold. The motion was seconded by Shawn Mickus and accepted by a unanimous voice vote.

Insurance Agent Report

  • No insurance agent- Alex Johansen has moved on to other venture

District Deputy Report

            March 4, 2022- Free throw contest

Good of the Order

The Good of the Order was conducted by Tom Rohe
