An Appeal to the Brothers in Your Council 6100

Brothers,

These past couple of years have been difficult for all of us. The pandemic has had a major impact on our families and work life. We all know people who have been lost or fallen ill. Our Council has been impacted as well. Some very active members of our Council have passed away. We have had virtually no income because our bingo operations have been shut down. For a long while, all meetings were virtual, most of our service activities have been canceled and we have lost touch with many members who are usually active.

Yet our Council has continued to give to many organizations needing our help by using some of the financial reserves we have worked so had to acquire. Our blood drives have been more successful during the pandemic than before. During this time our council has been held together by a small group of our brothers who have made it a point to remain active and keep our Council afloat. It has been a long two years!

Fortunately, it seems that things are moving more towards normal. Our Council needs to return to more of our regular activities and charitable service that so many worthy organizations have relied on in the past. There is much work to be done.

The 2021-2022 Columbian year is quickly drawing to a close and your trustees will need to present a slate of Officers at the May business meeting. It is for this reason that we are asking you to think about how you can become more involved.

First, please make a commitment to reengage with your Council. In order for 6100 to emerge from two years of craziness, we need participation from our membership. Many hands make light work and there is so much work to do.

Second, please consider taking on a leadership role in our Council. There are several positions that need to be filled and I am sure you have the skills to fill one of them.

Third, please pray on this request and have the courage to listen to His response. Service in Jesus’ name is the root of the Charity, Unity and Fraternity of our Order.

Thank you!

The Trustees of 6100
