Business Meeting

January 11, 2021

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:32 pm by Grand Knight Joe D’Anna.

Warden’s Report

All present were in possession of a current membership card.

Opening Prayer

Opening prayer was led by GK Joe D’Anna

Salute to the flag was led by the council members.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the previous meeting were accepted on a motion by Shaun Mickus, Seconded by Dan Fuller and accepted by a unanimous vote.

Membership Report

There was no report.

Grand Knight’s Report

  • Appreciation for all the people who are at the meeting physically and those who join online.
  • Nomination of a Knight of the month- Nominate Gregg Buckalew for the month of January 2021 for his dedication in getting the Council’s newsletter ready for all these years.

Treasurer’s Report (Wally Krake)

No report – Treasury report is sent to senior officers for their review.

Financial Secretary’s Report

Financial Secretary report is emailed in advance to Trustees for approval of expenditures.

Program Report

John Watral:  

Rose sale- $400 this past weekend (Jan. 9-10, 2021) Squire will cover mass for the weekend of Jan. 16-17, 2021.

Gerry Kaufhold:  

  • Jan. 22, 2021, Anniversary of Rohe vs Wade- the District of New Jersey asks for prayer to end abortion.
  • Jan. 22, 2021 – Rally at State house in Trenton.
  • Proceeds of the Rose sale drive should go to the Squire since there is no trio to Washington this year
  • Netcong council will no longer be the primary organizer for the Washington trip.
  • Jan. 23-24, 2021 – Kick off Baby Bottle project

Gerard Petrocelli:

  • Wreath drive made a profit of $625- Thanks to the matching funds of $500 there is a net of $1125 to buy gift cards for the family in need.
  • Blood drive: the past 3 drives (Jul, Sep, Dec, 2020) we collected approximately 160 products. Pre-pandemic we use to collect about 90 products. Thanks to all those who participate and donate and also to our internal donors.

Tom Rohe:

  • Charity Mania- we have 16 winners at $25, 2 at $50, 1 at $100, Grand prize will be $600- the profit is $1,559.22

Unfinished Business:

There was no unfinished business

New Business:

Motion 2021-27: Gerry Kaufhold made a motion to donate $100 to Bishop Sweeney for the Federation Bishop’s night.  The motion was seconded by Tom Rohe and passed by a unanimous voice vote.

Motion 2021-28: Tim Smitreski made a motion for the Council to allocate up to $500.00 for the Council Free Throw contest expenses.  Gerry Kaufhold seconded the motion, and passed by a unanimous voice vote.

Insurance Agent Report

Happy new year and looking forward for new products this year such as Mutual funds, Medicare market- additional product coming in 2021.

District Deputy Report

  • Dec. 2020- Deputy mid-term meeting
  • January 15, 2021- Paterson Federation meeting
  • January 16- New Jersey State Grand Knight meeting-
  • Free Throw contest is on – District 36 will host the Free Throw contest
  • Form 1728 is due at the end of the month (Jan. 2021)
  • Patriotic degree – Sunday April 18, 2021
  • Pride in Priest dinner – April 8, 2021 ($56 per person)
  • Paterson Federation Golf Outing April 27, 2021
  • Happy new year
